  • Data and resource management in Internet-scale cloud computing infrastructures.

  • Indexing and complex query processing/optimization in Internet-scale data management systems.

Huawei Technologies R&D (UK), Ltd.

  • Member of the Graph Database team within the Huawei Edinburgh Research Centre, leading a group of researchers looking into issues related to future graph database management systems, for settings ranging from embedded/low-memory devices to large-scale distributed deployments. Also, supporting the design of the business plan for Huawei database technologies strategies.

Currently conducting research focusing on Big Data themes, including data management and processing across multi-datacentre systems, distributed shared-nothing data management architectures, indexing and query processing in distributed NoSQL/graph data stores, high performance data management in the Cloud, and scalable/decentralised recommender systems.
